Generon IGS becomes CATERPILLAR OEM

Generon IGS has been designated as an “Original Equipment Manufacturer” by Caterpillar Inc. The agreement covering Cat diesel engines in equipment packages manufactured at Generon’s Houston facility was signed in November, 2005 after a site audit by A.C. Grimwade, Caterpillar Inc.’s North American Petroleum Diesel Engine Sales Manager. The agreement between Mustang Power, Caterpillar’s distributor for the Houston area and Generon was signed by David Brooks of Mustang Cat Power Systems and by Tony Troiano, Generon’s Houston General Manager.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 9, 2005 -- Generon has supplied electric motor and diesel engine driven compressors to customers in the past in conjunction with Nitrogen Membrane Units, Liquid Nitrogen Plants and Nitrogen PSA Units. While most of these have been purchased by Generon in air compressor packages assembled by other companies, an increasing number are being packaged by Generon in house.

“Our customers have driven this change” indicates Tony Troiano. “They want integrated control systems and consistent packaging that meets their technical specifications” he continues. “This is particularly true for offshore applications with hazardous area electrical classifications. The harsh environment offshore also drives a need for better coatings and materials than are commercially available in standard air compressor packages.”

“We recently increased our organizational strength in the compressor and compressor packaging area to be able to better meet the needs of our most demanding customers,” adds Tom Jeffers, President of Generon IGS. We are laying plans for increased plant capacity and will continue to augment our technical staff – both to satisfy the requirements of our existing markets and to allow us to serve additional markets," Mr. Jeffers concludes.

“Generon has been an indirect consumer of Cat engines for some time” notes David Brooks of Mustang Cat Power Systems. “We fully expect to see continued growth at Generon as they integrate compression into their product lines.”
