Oil & Gas Journal, OGJ Online Launch E-Newsletters

HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) October 20, 2005 -- Oil & Gas Journal and its web site, Oil & Gas Journal Online, have launched two electronic newsletters, one a daily and the other a focused weekly.

Oil & Gas Journal Daily Update and Oil & Gas Journal Weekly E&D Report join Oil & Gas Journal Online This Week, which has a circulation of over 37,000.

Oil & Gas Journal Daily Update, delivered Monday through Friday, offers news written for oil and gas professionals by editors of the weekly OGJ.

Each issue begins with the daily Market Watch feature covering the prior trading day’s oil and gas prices and news events driving them. Following Market Watch are reports on industry operations — including exploration, drilling, production, gas processing and LNG, refining, basic petrochemicals, pipelines, and tankers — plus news on energy politics and economics, companies, and personnel changes.

Oil & Gas Journal Weekly E&D Report, distributed on Wednesdays, presents news on global exploration and development activity and includes area drilling from around the world.

Since 2002, Oil & Gas Journal Online This Week, distributed on Thursdays, has delivered a sample of articles in all categories from OGJ Online.

Stories in all three newsletters originate on the continuously updated web site, which can be found at ogjonline.com. All are written by members of the OGJ staff.

“We’re a filter, not an aggregator,” said OGJ Editor Bob Tippee. “We know our audience and understand the business. We select the stories and report the technical and operational details oil and gas professionals need – and leave out the nonessentials.”

Tim Tobeck, Group Publisher and Vice-President, said expansion of OGJ’s suite of electronic newsletters advances a longstanding multimedia strategy. “The newsletters add a broadcast dimension to the multimedia platform OGJ has created by integrating its print magazine and web site,” Tobeck said. “The integration improves our delivery of the oil and gas story to readers and offers a rich – and now richer – communications tool to advertisers.”

The 103-year-old Oil & Gas Journal, published by PennWell Corporation, is a fully paid subscription magazine for operating decision-makers and top managers in the oil and gas business. It has total average qualified paid circulation of 77,485.
