IHRDC to Offer New Blended Learning Programs in Applied Petroleum Technology

IHRDC has developed 15 blended learning modules, each representing one-week of instruction, in five different areas of upstream petroleum technology. They will be available for corporate in-house offerings and run publicly in Boston in 2006

Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 10, 2005 -- International Human Resources Development Corporation (IHRDC) announced today that 15 blended learning modules, in five different areas of practical petroleum technology will be offered in 2006. The program areas include: Applied Reservoir Engineering Practice; Reservoir Management for Mature Fields; Formation Evaluation; Drilling Engineering and Operations; and Production Engineering and Operations.

The unique program design incorporates a “blend” of different forms of learning - lectures, practical assignments using IHRDC’s electronically captured Action Learning, mentor coaching and access to IPIMS e-Learning. Each participant will have full electronic access prior to and during the program to IPIMS.ep, IHRDC's extensive E&P e-Learning system.

David A.T. Donohue, President of IHRDC explained, “This learning format engages learners as they complete challenging, practical assignments using real-life data and job-related situations. The learning is equivalent to “on-the-job” training, which is considered to be the ‘best way to learn’ Many of our clients find this to be a ‘breath of fresh air’ in training”.

The blended learning modules are planned so that they can be scheduled in a logical sequence or taken on a one-off basis. IHRDC’s senior technical specialists and mentors, who developed the programs, have designed them to run in clusters of one to four weeks of instruction.

Applied Reservoir Engineering will be offered in IHRDC’s Boston Training Center March 6-24, 2006 as will Production Engineering and Operations, October 30-November 10, 2006. In addition to the public offerings, IHRDC is encouraging clients to select a program to run “in-house” with the option of using IHRDC instructors to train their company Mentor.
